Introducing Aaron

Aaron Kearney, is our Managing Director and is a multi-award-winning broadcaster, photo-journalist, sports commentator, five-time New York Festival award winner, AIPS Sports Award Silver Medallist and the 44th MEAA Prodi Journalist of the Year.

He has won a Walkley Award for emergency broadcasting and forged a career across newspapers, television, radio and social with Fairfax, Channel Seven Australia, the ABC and others.

Aaron was recently an inaugural Summer Fellow at the Reuters Institute for Journalism at the University of Oxford and holds a Masters and Graduate Certificate from Griffith University, specialising in broadcast for development. He designed and produced the world’s first Pacific indigenous language live broadcast from the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.  After co-producing the Niugini Broadcasting Corporation’s historic coverage of the 2015 Pacific Games, he has mentored female journalists from six countries at several international events, including the Commonwealth Games.

The Director of AKS Media International, Aaron is in demand across the globe for his experience in broadcasting, commentary, storytelling and innovation, working for the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, ABC International Development and universities and corporations on five continents.

Introducing Kip

Kip, our director and project manager is a highly-skilled and experienced international journalist, trainer and project manager. 

Kip has a Masters in International Development and is currently working within the ABC International Development and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade delivering programs for the Women in News and Sports diplomacy initiative. ​

Kip's skills are in creating and co-ordinating genuine international professional exchanges. She has extensive project management experience and is a communications specialist.

Kip is currently running a high profile international Australian aid-funded gender training program for journalists in Indo-Pacific, augmented with a wealth of expertise in designing, developing and delivering training programs across Europe, Asia and the Pacific. 

Kip has proven ability to deliver cross-cultural communications strategies with an expansive communications career spanning more than 20 years’ journalism experience across radio, television and new media.
